Bloggers and digital marketers are very much worried about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to get organic visitors from google, rank at the top of Google or maximize their page speed.
Similarly, I was also very much worried when I started my blog. Initially, I was not getting regular visitors, when I posted a blog then some visitor may turn up to my website. Someday 10 visitors or no visitor.
Thoughts like where I was wasting my time and effort appeared in my mind? Is blogging for me or not?
Whether I should leave blogging or sell on my website? So many negative questions circumscribed my mind and I was like what to do?
Likewise, You also might be facing these issues if you are a blogger or internet marketer. Aren’t YOU?
But at the same time, I was very much optimistic that my blog will be famous one day and I will also get tons of visitors and it happened because I never gave up. I defied failure and grabbed success.
If I get success or failure both will help in one or the other way. Either of the two way I was seeing an opportunity.
If I failed I will have a story to tell people in my next venture. If I got success then it’s a WIN-WIN situation.
What is SEO or Search Engine Optimization?
SEO or Search Engine Optimization is a technique to optimize websites and increase the quality and quantity of organic traffic to your websites.
Nobody can exactly say about algorithms that search engines use to rank pages but there is some sort of methods well known to improve ranking like on-page SEO, off-page SEO, and tools like Yoast SEO.
Let me show you an example of SEO.
Suppose I search what is digital marketing? I get 1,17,00,00,000 of results on google explaining digital marketing.
But the results which are on the top or on the first page are more likely to be opened by the user, and here we see on top there is Marketo, Hubspot, and Neil Patel. Chances are user will most likely open the first three links or only the first one.
If your website is nowhere on top or first page of google then user like you and me doesn’t waste time moving to next page. We are very much satisfied with the first-page result.
This is the reason why SEO or Search Engine Optimization is important. If you want lots of visitors and build your brand then SEO is important for you.
On Page and Off Page SEO:
On Page SEO: On-Page SEO means optimizing your blog post at the time when you are writing your blog.
This method of optimizing websites for better ranking in search engines is known as On Page Search Engine Optimization.
It includes 17 ways through which you can optimize your website.
1. Start Title with Focus Keyword: Title of your blog post must start with the focus keyword.
Now you may ask what is the focus keyword? Focus keyword is a keyword that tells the search engine about your page.
Focus keyword can be selected based on your keyword research.
Starting title with focus keyword increases your chances of ranking high on search engines.
2. Minify HTML: For Minifying HTML you can use Minify HTML plugins to minify your Java Scripts, HTML (Hypertext Markup Language).
Go to Plugins > Add New > type Minify HTML.
Plugins will appear like the above image. Download and activate it to minify all your java scripts and HTML.
For your comfort and avoid confusion in settings, apply the above image settings to minify your HTML.
I am also using the same settings given above.
3. SEO-friendly URL: URL means Uniform Resource Locator. The address you use to locate any websites.
SEO friendly URL impresses user as well as search engines, the user when clicking a link they see the URL, if they find their query in the URL then they are likely to open your link.
So you must always use SEO friendly URL to triple your CTR (Click through Rates).
You should also change your permalink to make your URL SEO friendly.
4. Use short Paragraphs: Paragraphs should be short on your blog post to increase readability and engaging reader.
Long paragraphs bore and disinterest the reader and they are more likely to return from your websites.
Use one or two line sentences to hook up your reader.
Sentences may be made from two to three words. Do you understand?
I am always using short paragraphs. You can see in my whole blog post and in the earlier sentence ( Do you understand? ).
Likewise, You can also use my techniques to engage more readers till the end.
Also, add some interesting facts to entertain them.
5. Less use of Passive voice: I may suggest that don’t use passive voice until it is the quintessentially needed.
If you are using then use should use less than 10% of your whole blog post.
a) Ram is blogging.
b) Blogging is done by Ram.
Now tell me in the above two sentences which is easy to read?
Obviously the 1st one. 1st one is an active voice and 2nd is passive voice.
Active voice directly and easily conveys the meaning to the reader than passive voice. Always use active voice in your blog post.
6. Include LSI ( Latent Semantic Indexing) keyword: Latent Semantic Keyword is the keyword suggested by google at the end of the page. These LSI keywords are those keywords that people are searching related to your keyword.
You can use Keywords Everywhere for keyword research, it’s totally free google extension.

You and me, everyone is addicted to social media, we share our each and every moments.
Sharing on social media builds your website brand. People with similar queries will start visiting your websites and this is something that every website or blogger needs the most.
9. Add modifiers and numbers in Title: By adding modifiers like Best, Guide, Tools, Case Study, Review, etc and numeric keys like 1,2, 3…. to make the title look interesting and engaging to the reader.
Benefits you get by adding modifier and number is that your title comes under the long tail keyword, which becomes easier to rank in google. As google want to ease customer experience, if your title matches with user keyword then Google will rank your page on the first page.

This is the power of using modifiers and numeric keys in your title tag because it grabbed your attention and it sounds good.
10. Inbound and Outbound links: Inbound links are links that we connect to our own websites.
The word ‘In’ in inbound signifies inside. So it’s linking of your websites blog post to any of your blog post.
Outbound links are the links which you use from other websites.
The word ‘out’ in outbound signifies outside. So we can conclude that it’s linking of other websites blog post to your own.
How to use Inbound and Outbound links?
Clicking on the add link you can add any inbound or outbound link.
You have to select any word in which you want to add a link.
After adding any inbound or outbound link, click on the word and you will see an edit option, click on it.

It becomes easy to rank in search engines by writing long-form content.
A long blog post has the ability to generate more visitors. Everyone wants more visitors, isn’t it?
I also write detailed and researched blog of about more than 2000 words, that takes a long time to read but it gives you an insight of each and every detail.

The meta description is a short description of your blog post, or it is a description which you want your customer to see in the search engine pages and land quickly to your website. It is a short detail about your blog post in 60 words.
Give short details about website or blog, give offers, and add a call to action in your meta description.
A good example of a meta description given below:
Sivananda Yoga Teachers has a good meta description, they have given short details of their services along with a call to action.

It’s also easy for the visitor to distinguish the blog post because what user do after clicking on a blog post, they just scroll to the bottom and see headings and subheadings, multimedia and infographics.
If they want to know about on page SEO and in my blog post there is everything about SEO, so what they will do they will jump to particular query they have; and this will be distinguished by having heading or subheadings in your content.
For Headings, font size must be 18 and for subheadings 16 and content should be of 14.
15. Use Focus keyword in starting paragraphs: Focus keyword should be used in between 100 words of your blog post.
16. Responsive design: How you feel when you are doing a lot of multitasking and your phone or computer says this app is not responding?
You feel like throwing away that gadget, same with the blog post.
Blog post or websites must be optimized for computer, mobile, and tablet.
You don’t know which user of yours will be using which device.
I have seen some websites that they perform well in desktop but not well in mobile or tablet because they have not made it responsive for all devices, likely the chances are their visitors or customers will leave their website and give a negative review.
Responsive design is a must.
You can make your website responsive at the time of building your websites. There are options for all three gadgets and you can check out and make it responsive.
One more step you can do is take someone laptop, mobile, and tablet and check how it’s performing.

It is a mutual benefit for both the website for which you are submitting your post and to you. You get their regular thousands of visitors, they get to know about your brand and you, and the website gets a high-quality content.
You might have seen that in websites like Moz, Yoast, Shoutmeloud; there are lots of guest posting, many bloggers contact them to have their content posted on their website.
If they are satisfied, you get your blog posted on their websites.
3. Promoting on social channels: You can promote your websites/ blogs in each and every social channels, to boost and grow your customers.
You can build your page on Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, WhatsApp group, etc to promote and reach billions of users.
Social media has billions of users who are online 24*7. It has become basic necessities for humans. They can’t live without social media. Earlier social media was fun but now marketers see as a paying customer whom they can sell their stuff.
It is well said that ‘Human Beings are Social Animals’.
After writing a blog post you can search for similar groups or page in your niche and start promoting your content on that page.
Don’t post on too many pages in one day, social media may block you.
These were the Off-Page SEO techniques to optimize and build your brand outside the On-Page.

3 Techniques to rank in search engines:
1. White Hat SEO: What does White signify in your mind? It means pure and original.
White Hat SEO means using tactics that are under search engines terms and conditions, without violating any rules.
In White Hat SEO, you can use both On-Page SEO and Off-Page SEO to improve your website ranking in search engines.
You must definitely use White Hat SEO method to offer quality content and services to search engines as well as your visitors.
2. Black Hat SEO: What does black signify? It signifies something evil or bad in nature.
Black Hat SEO means using tactics that are not under search engines terms and conditions, by violating the rules. Search engine hates these tactics the most and penalizes the websites by banning it from search engines.
Do you want to be famous for one time?
Then apply this technique.
Have you seen memes in social media? These are black hat SEO. These are short terms goals.
It is also used for making a particular topic viral and it doesn’t have regular visitors. They get the one-time visitor to their websites. They use excessive focus keywords in their blog.
Suppose someone builds a website for World Cup. All know that it will only for a short duration, so these websites use Black Hat SEO to make something viral or popularize something.
These tactics should not be used by blogger or website owners who want to achieve a long-term goal.
3. Grey Hat SEO: This is the middle path between Black Hat SEO and White Hat SEO.
Many websites apply this technique as it is less risky than Black Hat SEO and you will not be banned by search engines.
In this, you can either increase your website visitor by thousands or lose visitors. It’s a game of probability, either you get heads or tails. Depends on your luck.
Above all, the best and legal methods to rank in search engines is by using White Hat SEO. Your endurance will be for a longer time.
